Why We’ll Never Take Referral Fees – And Why It Matters

We do not accept referral fees. Ever.

This might seem like a small detail, but in light of recent media attention, including the BBC Panorama exposé into unethical industry practices, we believe it’s important to explain why this matters, and how it protects you.

What are referral fees?

In many estate agencies, when you’re introduced to a solicitor, mortgage broker or surveyor, the agent receives a commission for that referral – sometimes hundreds or even thousands of pounds per transaction.

It creates a serious conflict of interest. Instead of recommending the best person for your sale, the agent may recommend the one that pays them most.

In some agencies, buyers who don’t agree to use in-house services are quietly de-prioritised, even if they offer more money. Sellers lose out. Trust is broken. And no one talks about it.

We think you deserve better.
